Colver Women's Association
MEMBERSHIP:
Open to all women of the church and women of the other churches in the area.
MEETINGS:
The meeting, which is called a Circle, is held on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 2 PM (except July and August) at the church. During the meeting we have devotions, a short business meeting, a mission report, Fellowship of Least Coin, and Bible Study. We have a covered dish or order pizza for a time of fellowship!
OFFICERS:
Our officers are a Moderator, Vice Moderator, Secretary, MIssion Chair, Treasurer, and Assistant Treasurer.
FINANCES:
There are no dues. During the meeting, women may participate in:
1) Least Coin Offering - This is a world-wide collection where women give the least coin of their country to help with mission. We collect a penny every month, and once a year it is sent in to be combined with other women's least coin.
2) A free will offering
3) Card Fund - to purchase cards and postage to send cards for the sick and shut-ins
FUNERAL DINNERS:
Funeral dinners can be provided for active, inactive, or contributing members of the church and church organizations in the event of the death of their immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, children or grandchildren).
FUNDRAISING PROJECTS:
Fundraisers are held as needed.
SECRET SISTER:
At the December meeting, members may wish to draw a name for a secret sister for the following year. This is for cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. (No Gifts are expected.) Also at this meeting, this year's secret sisters are revealed.
A group that has grown out of our Presbyterian Women is:
COLVER CRAFTERS
We meet at the church on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month from 1-3 PM. We work on our own projects and also make items for other organizations. We drink a lot of tea and enjoy good fellowship. Even if you are not crafty, you are welcome to join us!!
The women of the Presbyterian Church welcome all women to join us as we worship together to praise our LORD by sharing the gifts we have been blessed with. Hope to see you at our meetings!
